Carolina Circle Mall Wiki is Online!!!

Ladies and gentlemen, I am proud to present the Carolina Circle Mall Wiki!

The Carolina Circle Mall Wiki is the new replacement for the now defunct Home of Carolina Circle Mall. This is where everything is going to happen now (including this blog of course)!

With that said, I'm going to need all the help I can get editing this Wiki. If you'd like to help, please drop me a line and I can get you going!

It's all coming together again!

Thank You

I’ve been running the Carolina Circle Mall Fan Club on Facebook for the past year. I am just in utter shock how far this club has gone.

Right now, as of this writing, there are 960 members that are currently signed up. No, I don’t believe it either.

I would also like to give a shout-out to a new member of the fan club; Mr. Sam Billingsley. He was the final manager of the mall’s Ice Chalet from 1986-1987. He was even there the final night the rink was opened in 1988. He even shut the machines down that kept the rink frozen!

So from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you for all the help you’ve given to make this fan club possible. I may have created and put the original life into it, but it’s the 960 members that made it possible, including Louis Money, Sam Billingsley, Travis Trotter, and Tommy Thomas.

Also, once the group reaches the magic number of 1,000 members, I have a very special surprise in store for everyone.

If you haven’t already joined, please click here.

Huffine Mill Christian School

I normally don't do this, but I'm going to step away from Carolina Circle Mall for a moment to promote something I feel is very important.

My school, Huffine Mill Christian School, opened its own website last Friday. It uses the same service that Home of Carolina Circle Mall uses and it has photos!

Watch your step though. It's pretty much under construction.

Wikipedia Article Changes

I made a few expansions to the Carolina Circle Mall article on Wikipedia awhile ago and I'd like you to take a look at them.

Unfortunately, I do not know much about Wikipedia so I am asking anyone who is willing to help me expand it and help me cite the references.

It is here.

Carolina Circle Mall on Wikipedia

Carolina Circle City reader Jake Nelson created a Carolina Circle Mall article on Wikipedia yesterday. Thank you.

Unfortunately, Wikipedia has had many Carolina Circle articles over the years, only to be deleted for the following reason: "No body cares about an old defunct mall". Yet, there are many other dead mall articles on Wikipedia.

We need to work together to make this a very complex article that would avoid deletion. Jake started it, we can expand it. Unfortunately, I don't know very much about how to edit Wikipedia articles, so I'm recuriting a little help.

The article is here

Mall is Gone... but Never Forgotten

I was doing yet another Carolina Circle Mall Google search a moment ago and came across a little poem written by someone dealing with the Ice Rink Era.

There are two things that really stick out to me in this poem. The writer does not seem to show any hatred to the Carousel Era even though this deals with the Ice Rink Era. Secondly, this poem is a reminder that Carolina Circle Mall was a very special mall that catered to children of the '70s, '80s, and '90s.

You can read it here.

The Mall of Memphis.org

I was doing some web surfing today and came across a website that is very much related to http://mallmemories.com.

It's a website fully dedicated to the Mall of Memphis. I still don't know what city that mall was located in. I was just kidding by the way.

Run by Doug Force, Mall of Memphis.org could be thought of as the equivalent of Carolina Circle Mall's Home of Carolina Circle Mall and Carolina Circle City.

I haven't really had much time to do a thorough examination of the website, but from what I've seen, it's awesome.

I believe in the same philosophy. People have always asked me why I love Carolina Circle Mall so much and why I even bother having a website/blog about it. Here's the answer. Carolina Circle Mall wasn't just an Ice Rink/Carousel haven full of stores, it was Memoryville, North Carolina! Mall of Memphis is Memoryville, Tennessee.

Carolina Circle City salutes Mall of Memphis, Mall of Memphis.org, and Doug Force.

Oh yeah, click here to visit the Mall of Memphis.

Jingle

I was doing some web surfing awhile ago and I came across this interesting audio clip.

It's a 30 second commercial advertising Carolina Circle Mall, composed by LA Jingles of Los Angeles, California.

It does not have any information at all about it. The slogan is apparently "It All Comes Together at Carolina Circle Mall". The music sort of sounds like carousel music, so it could possibly be from the Carousel Era. Could somebody please help me if you have any information.

You can find it here. Simply click on the link at Dogpile.com. Also, it requires RealPlayer.

Over at Retro Junk.com

I made an article at one of my favorite websites Retro Junk.com about Carolina Circle Mall. After all, the mall is retro.

Mall Memories: Carolina Circle Mall

I came across a website a few minutes ago that features a few little things about Carolina Circle Mall.

Basically, it's a website dealing with malls that have been demolished and it includes Carolina Circle Mall.

Most of it are pictures taken from Carolina Circle City and videos from YouTube. And that's about it. If I could figure out html, I could add a few things to it.

I admire the dedication of that site and invite you to take a look at it here.
