Wal-Mart Update: 8/4/06

Alright, I went by the new Wal-Mart this afternoon. Sorry, no pictures this time. I noticed something very peculiar.

There was a McDonald's "M" on the front of the Wal-Mart. I know a lot of Wal-Marts have McDonald's, but why this one? There's one 1/4 mile up the road. Why would they're be two McDonald's near each other? Well, I do know at the beach, there are a lot of Wing's Beachware stores across the street from each other.

Anyway, it looks like it's ready to open. Hold on Carolina Circle City fans, because we're about to witness Carolina Circle history. When the Wal-Mart opens, you'll here it first at Carolina Circle City.

Wal-Mart Update: 7/24/06

That's what the new Wal-Mart looks as of yesterday. I went out there yesterday to take some pictures for you all.

It looks like it could open at anytime. This is the point in the construction project where it gets to the excitement. I can't wait for the New Carolina Circle Mall to open!

Wal-Mart Update: 6/21/2006

That's what I saw this afternoon when I pulled into the "The Son of Carolina Circle Mall". That Wal-Mart is set to open in August. Coincidentaly it'll open almost exactly 30 years after Carolina Circle Mall opened on August 4, 1976. I'm hoping the Wal-Mart will open on August 4, 2006.

Wal-Mart Update: 3/5/06

Went by the former Carolina Circle today and took some pictures of the construction of the new Wal-Mart.

I didn't get out of the car on this trip because there was a Hard Hat Area sign up. Anway, you can see that the construction is going very quickly. It's getting to the exciting point.

Wal-Mart Update: 1/22/06

Okay, this afternoon I had a Big Mac Attack. So I went to the McDonald's near Carolina Circle and got a Big Mac. Have a nice day.

Oh alright. I also noticed a sign at the intersection of Cone Blvd and Sands Dr. We now know the official name of the new shopping center. It will be called "The Shoppes at Pyramids Village".

Apparently, Pyramids Village hasn't left Carolina Circle and they have big plans. It also said that it will be available Summer 2006. Might be for like strip shops maybe. The Wal-Mart won't probably open until the end of 2006.

Wal-Mart Update: 1/8/06

I rode by the current Carolina Circle Dirtpile today and noticed a banner saying something like "Coming Soon: Wal-Mart Supercenter". Friday, I noticed that Duke Power was setting up temporary power lines for the construction site. This is starting to get pretty exciting.

Wal-Mart Update: 12/1/05

I rode past the mall site this afternoon and I noticed some stacks of brand new bricks. This means that the construction of the new Wal-Mart is about to begin. Please stay tuned for updates on this sudden information.

It's Coming

I rode past Carolina Circle today and noticed that the empty space that used to be the mall is completely flat.

This means that anytime now, Wal-Mart will begin construction. Once the construction starts, you'll here it first at Carolina Circle City.
