Alright, I went by the new Wal-Mart this afternoon. Sorry, no pictures this time. I noticed something very peculiar.
There was a McDonald's "M" on the front of the Wal-Mart. I know a lot of Wal-Marts have McDonald's, but why this one? There's one 1/4 mile up the road. Why would they're be two McDonald's near each other? Well, I do know at the beach, there are a lot of Wing's Beachware stores across the street from each other.
Anyway, it looks like it's ready to open. Hold on Carolina Circle City fans, because we're about to witness Carolina Circle history. When the Wal-Mart opens, you'll here it first at Carolina Circle City.

A lot of times, McDonald's will locate in a Wal-Mart and then nearby in a freestanding store. Starbucks does this in Target sometimes.
This Wal-Mart will open either on Aug. 16th (Wednesday), or on Aug. 17th (Thursday).
More info: This Wal-Mart will *definitely* open on Wednesday the 16th at 7:30 a.m. for a "ribbon-cutting". There's a small sign in front of the store verifying this.
No big blue box will ever contain the spirit of the old Carolina Circle Mall. As for McDonald's, I once saw two Mickey D's in Paris... directly across the street from one another. Made no sense. But then since when did anything about McDonald's (or France for that matter) make much sense? :-P
In Enterprise, Alabama, there is a solo Mcdonald's, and there is also one in the Wal-Mart Supercenter.
