Found this online news article from March 6, 1999 about the Carolina Circle. It gives you a clear picture of how the mall was doing in the last year of the good ol' 90's.
Kinda makes you think. Hearing stories about the final days of the mall makes you wonder what killed it. It could have been Y2K, the Stock Market, Alien Invasion, or missed an important payment.

I hadn't thought about Belk being closed that long before the rest of the mall did. And I do miss that Dillard's clearance center.
